On June 24, 2015 Alternatives had their first ever Wine and Chocolate Event, it was held at Montecassino Woodbridge. This evening was very special because we announced a secret we’ve been holding onto since the fall of 2014. On this day, Alternatives Integrating People with Cognitive Challenges began formerly known as Creating Alternatives Day Program. The name change was inspired by our ability to create opportunities for our program participants in all of the various programming options we have offered past, present and future. The event brought over 100 guests to share in our secret, and to bring us to the future of day programming in Vaughan, ON. This evening we announced our new Wish Upon A Star supporter recognition campaign, this campaign recognizes supporters who help us year in and year out. We honoured 15 individuals who have been supporting annually every year since Alternatives began.

The Wish Upon A Star sponsor recognition campaign is for our supporters to be acknowledged at our programming centre. A donor wall is up at Alternatives with a name of every supporter who has contributed to the Wish Upon A Star campaign. These supporters choose to contribute to an aspect of the program, including: programming rooms, or resources, or providing the opportunity for our program participants to be integrated into the community in one way or another. This opportunity allows for our special supporters to be acknowledged and recognized for the meaningful contributions they make that allow us to continue providing the integral programs we do in our community for the vulnerable sector we service.
