Health and Wellness
The Health and Wellness program combines healthy living, physical/mental wellness, nutrition, understanding healthy relationships and community safety. This program incorporates the understanding of bodily functions, with emotional regulation and social interaction. Participants will recognize the importance of respecting and valuing their own feelings, those of others and learn valuable ways to connect with peers.
Wellness is an active process of becoming aware and making choices toward a healthy life. Everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being; In turn, our well-being directly affects our actions and emotions.
Mental Health and Wellness
Mental Health and Wellness relates to the understanding of one’s feelings and coping effectively with stress. It is important to be mindful and learn the proper signs of self-care, develop emotional regulation, relaxation and stress reduction to further grow from experiences and/or situations.
Physical Health Wellness
Physical wellness relates to maintaining a healthy body and seeking care when needed. Physical health is attained through exercise, eating well, getting enough sleep and recognizing the signs of illness. This aspect of our program also supports participants in basic first-aid and who/when to call for assistance.
Social wellness helps one build appropriate social relationships, and identify the different levels of personal space. This aspect of wellness allows participants to not only develop encouraging relationships with peers and build a social support network, but also implementing these skills in day-to-day interactions in daily living.
